</span><span style="font-family: arial; color: #454545;">Asian Cultures Museum Celebrates Autumn Equinox Under The Moon</span></span></p>
<p>Corpus Christi, TX: The Texas Museum of Asian Cultures &amp; Education Center announced today that it is preparing for its 2010 Moon Festival, to be held at the Museum on Saturday, September 25th, 2010, 6pm to 10pm.</p>
<p>The 2010 Moon Festival, known as Zhong Qui Jie, translates to Mid-Autumn Festival and is second only to the Chinese New Year as a major event. The Festival celebrates the harvest and autumnal equinox. The celebration features live music and dancing under the full moon, cash bar, Asian entertainment, American and Asian food specialties from over 20 local restaurants, including the festivalâ€™s traditional dish, Moon Cakes. Additionally, the Museum will be selling raffle tickets for a Las Vegas vacation for three days and two nights, including roundtrip airfare and hotel. Five hundred tickets will be sold at $10 each, 15 trips will be awarded.</p>

<p>The Texas Museum of Asian Cultures &amp; Education Center was established in 1974 to promote social development and understanding of Asian cultures and to facilitate the advancement of world trade and peace. The Museum is an official partner of the Corpus Christi Upper Padre Island Convention &amp; Visitors Bureau. Its mission is to bridge the gap between Asia and Texas by offering art and cultural exhibits, educational classes for adults and students, and providing assistance to the business community in international relations with Asian companies and entrepreneurs. Each year, many social clubs and more than 1500 children, in grades pre-k through college, tour the museum.</p>
<p>The Museum was recently featured in FORTUNE magazine for its role in the successful negotiations to bring Tianjin Pipeline Company to Corpus Christi.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><strong>Beat the ceremonial drum!</strong>  It&#8217;s nearly time to celebrate the <strong>Year of the Boar</strong>!</p>
<p>The Chinese year 4705 begins on February 18, 2007.  <strong>Food</strong>, <strong>fun</strong>, and a fantastic <strong>silent auction</strong> will be some of the many highlights as the Texas State Museum of Asian Cultures &#038; Education Center hosts its annual <strong>Chinese Lunar New Year Celebration</strong> on Saturday <strong>February 24</strong> (5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m).</p>
<p><span id="more-20"></span>A full Chinese buffet, traditional dancers, and a fun-filled evening of entertainment are included in the admission.</p>
<p>This year&#8217;s traditional Lion Dance will be even more special, as the dancers will debut the two <a title="lion costumes donated" href="http://asianculturesmuseum.org/2006/12/27/lion-dance-costumes/">new lion costumes</a> graciously donated to the Texas Museum of Asian Cultures &#038; Education Center by the Taiwanese Consulate in July.</p>
